Week 11

A quick check of the house this morning, found that the brickwork is now complete, plaster completed, doors and architrave delivered and also found my cabinetry delivered and sitting in my family room.

I am happy with the bricks (Category 2 Blackwood), although they are nothing like what I saw when I went out looking at homes that had been built, using them. They say every batch of bricks is different and this certainly holds true with these, now I am eager to see them clean.

My eldest daughter, came along with me today and just as well. She had a good look at the kitchen cabinetry and noticed it wasn't what I had ordered. I was supposed to have a *wrap* and this certainly wasn't that, a quick call to the BC Goddess, and I will be letting her fix this one up. Alfresco/Family door still needs to be replaced as well.

  1. Looking forward your updates :) Time flies and you can actually see your house now but not just the flames.

  2. Hoping all is ok with your home and the fires. Been thinking of you! The fires in Riddell came within 500m of our place.

  3. Prayers are with everyone at this time, I thought of you and your family also everytime I heard Riddell mentioned on the news. The Kilmore-Lancefield Rd is still blocked off, so I am unable to go and have a look. My sister who lives close by to my build is fine now, but my brother who is on the Kilmore-Lancefield Rd about 1km towards Lancefield, still doesn't know how his house is, I think that's the hard part the not knowing. You and your family take care!

  4. I got the same issue with the stacker door. Have you get any feedback from your BC? Will they change the stacker door for you? I sent them few emails but no response so far :(

    1. Yes they are changing it, it is an upgrade that I have paid for so of course they are changing it :)

  5. Would you mind let me know how much you pay for the upgrade? In my contract, there is an upgrade cost for the stacker door $1535. Currently, the sliding door being installed is excatly the same as yours. I think this is just sliding door but not the upgrade stacker door, right? I am confused now. Do they got different price for the upgrade stacker door? My SS told me that the upgrade is not including in my contract but I did see that included in my contract for $1,535. He also said the stacker door I want may be out of stock or for the engineering structure reason, I may not can change. I think that's their mistake and trying to find excuse.

    1. I paid the same as you $1535, the one that is in my house at the moment is only a $350 upgrade, you tell them to fix it, and that you want what you paid for. You tell him to order the door if it's out of stock, and there is no engineering reason for not to be installed. You tell them this is THEIR problem, you want what is in your contract and what you have paid for, talk to your BC not the SS.

    2. Thanks for your information. I think my SS just keep lieing to me, he told me if I want to install the stacker door as the display home, it should cost me $3000 more. $1,535 is the right price for the stacker door that I installed at the moment. But he would change it for me now and ask me to wait two weeks. I don't believe him and he just trying to fool me I think. And my BC has no response so far. Hope it won't affect the brick work and hope the new stacker door has the same size and can fit in. I am so lucky that have you to build the same Montague 21 with me. Thanks

  6. I have waited about 4 weeks so far for my new door, don't worry about it, they have plenty of other work to do while you wait. As soon as I get my new door in I will take more photo's for you.
